Yang Yi is very involved in preserving the traditional cotton yarn weaving and indigo dyeing of the Dong minority. Her passion for weaving was passed on to her by her ancestors. Yang Yi is always very moved when she sees her grandmother of almost ninety years old who handles the yarn with a dexterity always exemplary.

 

和很多同龄女性一样，杨怡到大城市工作了几年，渴望过上更舒适的生活，但这并没有让她感到幸福。织造是她的家族事业，她决定接手祖辈的事业，继续营销衰退中的独特侗族纺织面料。2010年，她与二十多名织娘成立了自己的一家布庄。
